Tillandsia Cotton Candy
Today's topic is somewhat different, it's about an unique plant: "Tillandsia Cotton Candy"
'Cotton Candy' is a hybrid cultivar of the genus Tillandsia in the Bromeliad family, origin: 1988
The Tillandsia Cotton Candy is an air plant, with a very different look & characteristics. This air plant is very striking & glow with green silvery appearance.
When I said "air plant" it means this plant grows without soil, yes we can place this plant anywhere without soil & requires very less water once in a week.
Mature plant blooms once in an year with an outstanding pinkish white flower coming out of the plant.
Where does they grow?
We can found air plants growing on trees, rocks, in deserts or rainforests. The roots of the air plant are simply used for attaching themselves to rocks, trees, shrubs and the ground.
Air plant care: If you're growing them indoors and the air is dry, you'll need to submerge the plant in water for 2-3 hours about every two weeks.
Why is my air plant dying?
Unfortunately, if your air plant has been over-watered, it's often too late to save it. If the base of the plant turns brown or black, and leaves are falling off from the center, your plant has likely succumbed to rot.

Generally in our area overwatering of plants is the main cause of this destructive condition. Just like succulents, air plants store water in their leaves which may sustain them for as long as two weeks. So don't be so furious to water your air plants, it'll servive for a week without water.
